How to practice French at home

Here are some tips for your language learning journey.

The best way to learn a new language is to implement it in your daily life. Create habits or routines that use your target language everyday. Plan your day in your target language or do your shopping list in your target language. Listen to podcast or watch a show on Netflix or Youtube.

Each week you should do these four things at least one time : writing, reading, listening and speaking. The habit tracker will help you keep track of your progress.

1- Watching / listening :

My favorite shows these days are (on Netflix) :

- The Good Place (You can find the French version on Netflix)

- The Parisian Agency (Luxury Real Estate in Paris)

- Lupin (third season should come out soon)

- Criminal France

Tell me your favorite shows in the comment section!

2- Writing :

- Journal in French

- do your shopping list in French

- Plan your day or week in French

3- Reading:

My all time favorite book in French is "les 3 mousquetaires". You can find it for free online.

You can usually find all the French Classics (in French) for free online : Victor Hugo, Molière, Corneille, Gustave Flaubert, Jules Verne... Read them!

4- Speaking:

Find a partner to talk with online. HelloTalk is a very good app.

Participate to our Café Zoom! Once a month, we meet online and talk. A theme is decided before hand so everyone can review the vocabulary. Participation is free for my students, $5 otherwise.
