To express something that is going to happen such as "it's going to rain" in French, The form "aller + infinitive verb" is used.
Aller (to go) is conjugated in the present tense :
je vais
tu vas
il/elle va
nous allons
vous allez
ils/elles vont
and it is followed by a verb in the infinitive form.
Example :
je vais dormir (I am going to sleep)
tu vas partir (You are going to leave)
il va chanter (He is going to sing)
nous allons manger (we are going to eat)
vous allez danser (You are going to dance)
elles vont parler (They are going to speak)
It is frequently used in everyday conversation. It is a more simple and more casual way to express the near future : "tout à l'heure, plus tard, demain, bientôt, la semaine prochaine"...
Je vais faire mes devoirs tout à l'heure. (I'm going to do my homework later)
Je vais fêter mon anniversaire demain. (I'm going to celebrate my birthday tomorrow)
Je vais bientôt partir. (I'm going to leave soon)
Je vais rentrer la semaine prochaine. (I'll be coming back next week)
Translate :
Je vais écouter de la musique.
Il va avoir des problèmes.
Nous allons bientôt manger.
Prenez un parapluie, ou vous allez vous mouiller !
Ils vont partir à Paris La semaine prochaine.
Tu vas me manquer !
